Just Better Care

Liam CarrollBy Liam CarrollMarch 25, 20223 Mins Read
Supporting people to live independently always wins a smile

A career in aged care provides fantastic job security and the much needed support goes to people who cherish it.

For over 15 years, Just Better Care has been providing the essential support that allows older people and those with disabilities to live independently in their own homes. And with an ageing population there is a growing need for quality staff to provide care and support for more and more people. To meet these demands, Just Better Care is seeking Tawny Frogmouth readers and Northern Beaches residents who are thinking about a new career supporting people in the local community.

As Bettina Esposito, Manager at Just Better Care Northern Beaches & Northern Suburbs, explains, “There are rewarding roles available, best suited to compassionate and professional people, able to demonstrate the very highest standards of empathy, autonomy and passion.” Qualities for which the Tawny Frogmouth readership is Peninsula famous.

“While we may enter our client’s homes as strangers, our first priority is to ensure the client and their family are comfortable with our presence.” This is made possible thanks to Just Better Care’s commitment to offering the best level of support that keeps clients and their loved ones safe, achieving their goals and connecting them to the local community.

The nature of these roles and the work involved means that conditions can vary a great deal between clients but as Bettina points out, “It’s the ability to anticipate a client’s needs while still respecting their space, that is what makes all the difference, to always uphold and preserve the independence and dignity of those they are supporting.”

In these roles, Just Better Care staff will find themselves helping with a range of supports from travel and transport, personal care activities such as bathing, toileting, and domestic assistance. “The client is always at the centre. We know that each client is different and so too is the support that we provide for them. No two days are the same!”

While experience in a similar role is always an advantage, even more important to Just Better Care is the crucial ingredient that team members have the right emotional qualities. “A sunny disposition is always important! As is the ability to closely observe and monitor to ensure that our clients are safe, happy and secure in their own homes. A pragmatic approach also goes a long way.”
