Patients of the Northern Beaches have long benefited from the care of Dr Jessica Lai. An experienced General Practitioner with a special interest in skin cancer and melanoma medicine, Dr Lai is known for her thorough, considered approach and commitment to high-quality patient care.

Dr Lai completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales and has undertaken further postgraduate training, including a Master of Surgical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh and a Diploma of Child Health. She has worked across hospital and general practice settings, and has also gained broad experience in metropolitan and regional areas. This diverse clinical background has helped shape her holistic approach, with experience across surgical care, paediatrics, women’s health and family medicine.

Dr Lai has a strong interest in children’s and women’s health, offering antenatal care visits to support expectant mothers throughout pregnancy in partnership with hospital based maternity services. Dr Lai has also undertaken postgraduate training in skin cancer medicine and dermatoscopy and is a member of the Australasian Skin Cancer College.

Dr Lai offers weekly skin clinic sessions focused on the early detection and management of skin cancer. These appointments allow sufficient time for careful, comprehensive skin assessments, an important consideration in Australia, where regular skin checks play a key role in maintaining long-term health.

With fewer days spent at the beach over winter, it’s an ideal time to book in for a skin check, and stay on top of your skin health before the warmer months return.
