The Cunninghams way

The Cunninghams team in 2024
A team approach in 2024

In our property-fixated nation, conversation revolves almost constantly around the real estate market, but mention these three magic words, “real estate agent”, and it’s hard to imagine adjectives such as honourable, compassionate, trustworthy, and community-focused will be first to fill the airwaves.

However, for every resident of the Northern Beaches and beyond that’s had the good fortune of interacting with John Cunningham over his own 47-year real estate career, and the members of the Cunninghams Real Estate team over their 33 years of operations, these are precisely the words you’re most likely to hear. This is no fluke or the fortuitous result of some clever marketing. It’s the consequence of an engrained commitment towards doing everything possible for the Northern Beaches community, while also providing exceptional real estate service and expertise.

“We believe in building strong connections with our clients, our team, and the wider Northern Beaches community,” says Managing Director and Founder, John Cunningham. “We know that the role we play in sales, property management, and leasing is vital, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our commitment is to empower people by providing the best possible advice and helping them make informed decisions about their most valuable assets. We approach each relationship with trust and respect, and we’re confident in our ability to achieve the best results. However, this doesn’t mean sacrificing decency or kindness.”

The Cunninghams commitment to community is evident in the array of local programs, initiatives and endeavours John and the team contribute to. “It’s always been in our DNA to prioritise our clients’ interests first and foremost, while also giving back to the community we are fortunate to work in, live in, and be a part of.”

Humble beginnings for Cunninghams
Humble beginnings

Through partnerships with schools, community groups and local charities like LOCALKIND Northern Beaches, Lifeline Northern Beaches, the Lions Club, support of grassroots events such as this year’s debut Manly Writers’ Festival and the inaugural Cunninghams Manly Surf Festival, marking 60 years since Midget Farrelly and Phyllis O’Donnell won the first ever Mens and Womens World Surfing Titles at Manly in 1964, support of local services and community events is fundamental to the Cunninghams way of life, fostering a culture of kindness and compassion.

These relationships are central to the Cunninghams identity, reflecting their commitment to making a tangible difference in the community. And in times where many are struggling with a cost-of-living crisis, Cunninghams’ support of LOCALKIND in particular, whereby a percentage of every sale commission is donated to LOCALKIND, makes a huge difference towards providing support to the most vulnerable in the community.

As John says, “This is hyper-local support at its best with our team 100% behind this mission, and it’s an integral part of what it means to be a part of Cunninghams. We’re about more than just property. It’s about people, trust, and making the Northern Beaches a better place to live.”
