For more than two decades, Dr. Vivian Chan (MBBS, FRACGP) has combined deep clinical experience with a warm, family-centred approach to medicine.
A graduate of the University of New South Wales with Honours, Dr. Chan is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and brings extensive expertise from both emergency medicine and general practice to South Steyne Medical Centre.
Dr. Chan’s medical career has taken her from Sydney to Singapore, where she served as Senior Registrar in the emergency department at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. She has also provided medical coverage for major international events including the ASEAN Games, Youth Olympics and APEC Summit, as well as undertaking overseas medical evacuations.
At South Steyne Medical Centre, Dr. Chan provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages, with particular interests in women’s health, travel medicine, chronic disease management, corporate health, wound repair, and iron infusions. She is also an integral member of the SSMC Menopause Clinic, where she supports women through all stages of menopause with evidence-based, compassionate care.
Fluent in Bahasa, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien, Dr. Chan values clear communication and cultural understanding in every consultation. Outside of medicine, Dr. Chan enjoys running, playing the piano, exploring the outdoors and travelling with her family – pursuits that mirror her belief in maintaining balance and wellbeing in everyday life.
