Dr Richard Curran, MBBS (USyd), FRACS, is an experienced General and Laparoscopic Surgeon. Dr Curran has a large practice in surgery for gallstone disease ie laparoscopic cholecystectomy, for both emergency and elective patients.
A graduate of the University of Sydney, Dr Curran completed his advanced surgical training on the NSW Western rotation and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2008. He is currently a Consultant General Surgeon at Westmead Hospital and Blacktown & Mt Druitt Hospitals, with a clinical focus on laparoscopic general surgery. Dr Curran operates privately at Westmead Private, Norwest Private, and now also consults at Delmar Private Hospital in Dee Why.
Dr Curran’s broad surgical background allows him to manage a wide range of general surgical conditions, with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques where appropriate. His approach is grounded in careful assessment, clear communication, and evidence-based decision-making, ensuring patients are well informed and supported throughout their care.
