Master Jeweller launches Cabbage Tree Collection

The Tawny FrogmouthBy The Tawny FrogmouthOctober 30, 20262 Mins Read

Nique Jewellery, the bespoke jewellery studio workshop on Darley Road in Manly, founded by award-winning jeweller Danica Clifford, has launched its Cabbage Tree Bay collection: seven pieces in gold and silver, each modelled on a creature found in the aquatic reserve between Manly and Shelly Beach.

Cabbage Tree Bay, the stretch of water that inspired the collection, has been a ‘No Take’ Aquatic Reserve since March 2002. Across its roughly 20 hectares, fishing is prohibited, and no marine life may be removed or harmed, dead or alive.

The weedy seadragon itself is a protected species under both NSW and Commonwealth law and was reassessed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List in 2024.

The pieces, among them a ray, a weedy seadragon, a crab and an oyster with a pearl, are cast in gold and silver and set with pearls and lab-grown (or natural) diamonds. Each is designed to be worn more than one way: as a pendant, a set of earrings, as a complete charm bracelet, or in some cases a ring.

“My mornings start in the water at Cabbage Tree Bay,” says Danica. “This collection came from those swims, and the conversations afterwards about all the incredible things we’d seen underwater. Every piece is a creature from the bay we love.”

Pop into Nique Jewellery at 22a Darley Rd, Manly to see the Cabbage Tree Collection, or head online now to niquejewellery.com and follow on Instagram @niquejewellery
